Is It Bullying?

Hardin County CUSD #1 is committed to a safe, respectful learning environment. We take all student-to-student concerns seriously and respond in ways to teach skills, repair harm, and protect students. "Bullying" is often used as an umbrella term for any hurtful situation. Many incidents are mislabeled as bullying when they are actually a conflict or mean behavior. Correctly identifying the issue helps us respond with the correct supports and interventions.

We cannot help with concerns that we don't know about. To investigate patterns, supervise, and provide supports, incidents must be reported to a teacher or administrator as soon as possible. When you report, please include: who was involved, what happened, where/when it happened, how often it happened, evidence such as screenshots (for online concerns).

Thank you for partnering with us to promote kindness, respect, and safety for every student.
