School will be in session tomorrow Friday, February 6th, and this will be a full attendance day. There are approximately ten families who will be contacted by their bus drivers to make alternate pickup locations. The High School Scholar Bowl tournament at Carrier Mills has been postponed for a later date. We look forward to seeing our students and staff tomorrow! We appreciate your understanding and support during our prolonged snow days. As always, safety is our number one priority.

The IEP meetings scheduled for February 2nd will be rescheduled by our special education coordinator for a later date. Also, we are making a change to our calendar for Friday, February 6 which will now be a full day of attendance for students. Finally, congratulations to our High School boys for winning the 2026 GEC championship and Cheerleaders for winning the Spirit Award."

**NEW GEC SCHEDULE**

The GEC tournament schedule has been changed due to weather. All games will now be played Friday and Saturday. A new schedule for boys and girls is attached.

**GAME UPDATES DUE TO WEATHER**

HS Boys GEC : Games will start Wednesday @3:30pm (bracket attached below)

HS Girls GEC: Girls will play Thursday @5pm and Friday @3:30pm

JH Boys Regional: Semi-finals will be Saturday @7:30pm, the championship is set for Monday Feb 2nd @7pm

**UPDATED BRACKET**

The HS boys and girls GEC tournament has been changed to start on Tuesday 1/27 due to weather predictions. The girls will now play on Tuesday at 5pm and the boys will play at 8pm.

**Please note this is still subject to change pending the weather and updates will be given ASAP**

An updated boys bracket is attached. Girls will play a round robin style tournament (no bracket).

Notice is hereby given that the regular meeting of the Board of Education of Hardin County Community Unit School District No. 1, originally scheduled for Monday, January 26, 2026 has been rescheduled for Thursday, January 29, 2026.

The purpose of the meeting remains the same. The agenda will be posted in accordance with the Illinois Open Meetings Act.
