Hardin County Elementary held its first Hat Day fundraiser on Friday, October 2, to support our Accelerated Reading Program!
Students also had the chance to participate in a Secret Hat Contest and the winners were rewarded with a delicious bag of chips!
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make our first Hat Day a success! We’re already looking forward to the next Hat Day!

Some of our Hardin County 🍀4-H Teen Teachers🍀 and Ed Rising students had the privilege of visiting the U of I college campus in Champaign this week. They attended with four other Southern IL schools. The students had the opportunity to learn about food science, electrical current engineering, photon engineering, agricultural engineering, and virtual engineering. The Teen Teachers experienced campus dining, toured the football stadium, completed various hands on chemistry and multi media activities, a murder mystery, an escape room, and Spurlock Museum. This experience was made possible by the University of Illinois Extension Staff and SIFTC.

Junior High Boys Basketball tryouts will be held on:

3:00–5:00 PM

Wednesday, October 7
11:30 AM–1:30 PM

All boys who are planning to try out MUST have a current sports physical in order to participate in tryouts.

Our Educator's Rising and 🍀4-H Teen Teachers🍀 visited Ms. Goines and Mr. Milligan's 4th grade classrooms today teaching "The Light Within" learning that we are all special in our own way. The students ended the lesson by making stained glass windows to let their light shine through.

**Schedule Change**

Today's HS Volleyball game at Crab Orchard has been postponed to October 20th

Junior High girls' basketball tryouts will be today, Monday, September 28th, from 3-5 pm in the outside gym!

The team roster will be finalized and posted this evening. We will have practice all week from 3-5 pm in the outside gym.
