HARDIN COUNTY COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT 1

BOARD OF EDUCATION VACANCY

Due to the resignation of Board Member Mike Dutton, effective May 23, 2024, the Hardin County Community Unit School District #1 Board of Education has a vacancy for a Board Member from the date of appointment until the April 2025 consolidated election.

The Hardin County Community Unit School District #1 Board of Education is now accepting applications for possible appointment to the Board vacancy.  The Board has 60 days to fill this vacancy.

BOARD MEMBER QUALIFICATIONS

A School Board member must be, on the date of election or appointment, a United States citizen, at least 18 years of age, a resident of Illinois and the District for at least one year immediately preceding the election, and a registered voter. 

Reasons making an individual ineligible for Board membership include holding an incompatible office and certain types of State or federal employment.  A child sex offender, as defined in State law, is ineligible for School Board membership.

HOW TO APPLY

Letters of interest should be submitted to the Office of the Superintendent. All applications are due by July 23, at 3:00 p.m. If selected by the Board of Education, applicants may be contacted to set up an in-person interview. The replacement term will begin with appointing and swearing in of chosen Board Member at the July 2024 Regularly Scheduled Board Meeting following Closed Session.
